[NFT+ News] Jay Chou's NFT stolen by phishing site, loses about 155 ETH
On April Fool's Day, Jay posted that the BAYC #3738 NFT that his artist friend Wong Lap Sing gave him in January was stolen from a phishing website and resold at a high price of 155 ETH (about HK$3.979 million).
When he asked a friend to help him buy his latest NFT project, he was told that the Bored Ape NFT he had given him had been stolen by a phishing website. He thought it was just an April Fool's joke, but then he checked and found out that his NFT had really disappeared.
The blockchain security team, SlowMistTechnology, found that Jay's wallet address had been authorised for trading by the illegal and the NFT rights had been transferred to the attacker's wallet. The NFT was then resold on the trading platform LooksRare for 133 ETH (about HK$3.415 million) and 155 ETH (about HK$3.979 million) respectively. The Information Security website "Packshield" later revealed in a Twitter post that Jay's actual loss was not only one NFT, but also includes one "Mutant Ape" NFT and two "Doodles" valuable NFTs that were stolen, which is a significant loss.
