英超球隊利物浦日前連同拍賣行蘇富比旗下NFT平台,在3月30日至4月4日期間推出「LFC Heroes Club」系列數碼收藏品,以美金$75 (約港幣$590)在蘇富比平台發售。當中NFT主題圍繞現任領隊高普已經旗下23位球員,合共發售171,072件作品,目標籌得850,000鎊(折合約港幣88,000,000)。


可惜事與願違,利物浦僅賣出9,721張NFT,只有不足6%。 當中主要死因爲球迷對於NFT定價策略不理解、採用上架平台不是主流,影響未來易手能力。

利物浦是次發行NFT正正是一個很好的反面教材,證明發行NFT絕非簡單上載圖片,當中牽涉很多重考慮,無論是定價、數量、技術,都需要仔細規劃。由利物浦例子得出縱使坐擁明星球員及領隊及多條宣傳渠道,都不一定會帶來好的銷售成績。

[NFT+ News] Liverpool's first NFT set not selling as well as expected


English Premier League side Liverpool have joined forces with auction house Sotheby's to launch the 'LFC Heroes Club' series of digital collectibles from 30 March to 4 April, selling for US$75 (approximately HK$590) on Sotheby's platform. The NFT theme was based on the 23 players already in the current team, with a total of 171,072 pieces on sale, aiming to raise £850,000 (approximately HK$88 million).


Unfortunately, Liverpool only sold 9,721 NFTs, less than 6%. The main reasons for this were the lack of understanding of the NFT pricing strategy by fans and the fact that the platform used was not mainstream, which affected the ability to resell in the future.

Liverpool's NFT release is a good counter-example, proving that NFT release is not simply about uploading pictures, it involves a lot of considerations, whether in terms of pricing, quantity or technology, all of which need to be carefully planned. The Liverpool example shows that even with a celebrity footballer and team leader and various promotional channels, it does not necessarily lead to good results.
